Screw the 10,000 hour rule, all you need are a few minutes a day to master the art of Forex trading

“You need 10,000 hours under your belt to master a skill” I'm sure you've heard this before.

But a lot of commitment is required if you're looking to be a chess champion, cricket player or even a professional juggler. But I disagree when it comes to trading Forex. I can't think of anything further from the truth.

And this is why today I'm going to show you how the 10,000 rule is nonsense when it comes to trading Forex profitably.

What 10,000 hours equates to for you as a Forex trader

Let’s try and quantify how much experience you’ll gain, using the 10,000 hour mark. 

You’ve set your mind to learning the art of Forex trading for just 30 minutes a day. 

10,000 hours is equal to 300,000 minutes. 

And with 30 minutes a day of learning the Forex market, will mean you need 10,000 days to master the art of Forex trading. 

That is 27 years to become a Forex master. 

You’re looking to retire in the next decade or so comfortable with disposable money you can live off… You certainly don’t have 27 years to learn to trade Forex, while you juggle your job and spend time with your family. 

So, how many hours do you need to trade Forex successfully?

If you read a Forex 101 book such as the Forex Profits Pocket Guide, you can learn everything you need to know about the Forex market in just one hour.
 
Then once you’ve familiarised yourself with the basics of Forex trading, you’ll need a Forex strategy to follow. 

You could spend years developing this strategy on your own. Or you can just adopt a couple of proven trading strategies and adopt them for yourself. 

Once you have selected the strategy and money management that fits your trading personality in place, then fire away. 

By fire away I mean, open a demo account and start jotting down the trades that line up on a day to day basis. 

After, say 20 back-tested trades, see what where your portfolio would be at if you traded live. 

If it’s in the green, then you’re ready to commit a bit of your savings to start trading with a real-live account. 


If it’s in the red, then go back and test a different strategy. But where can you find this so called profitable strategy?
