Nederburg's South Africa's most awarded winery. Now, it's earned another notch on the post with top scores at the 2013 World Wine Championships held in Chicago this week. Here's what makes this a winning local wine label…
The 2013 World Wine Championships were held in Chicago on Tuesday.
The Beverage Tasting Institute runs the annual championships to award international wines selling for less than $20.
This year, local label Nederburg’s Winemaster's Reserve range came out tops, earning high scores as well as three gold medals and six best buy titles, says Bizcommunity.

Nederburg’s Special Late Harvest was a top performer at the championships, with a score of 93.
The vineyard’s Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc were ranked as 'exceptional' and also awarded gold medals.
This adds to Nederburg’s status as South Africa's most awarded winery on the back of the announcement that it also won the title of most successful South African producer at the International Wine & Spirit Competition in London, says Bizcommunity
A great way to invest in Nederburg wine: Attend the 2013 Nederburg Auction!
This news has local wine connoisseurs chomping at the bit to attend the 2013 Nederburg Auction taking place on 6 and 7 September, says FSP Invest.
Why should you attend?
Because the wines on auction will be the same as the original release – just older – which allows a degree of price comparison for investment purposes, adds CapeWineAcademy.
The organisers have taken a stricter selection approach this year to make the wines available in the auction’s 39th year that much more collectible.
