To live like a billionaire, you need to drink like one!

Anton Rupert's life is the stuff of legend.

Growing up in the small town of Graaff-Reinet, Rupert had to drop out of medical school because his family didn't have enough money to pay the tuition. But he didn't let this setback stop him from being successful. He started making cigarettes in his garage and, eventually turned this venture into the industrial and luxury branded goods giant that is Richemont today.

Almost single-handily, he's the reason the Rupert family is worth an estimated $8.2 billion and is one of the few South African families that appear on Forbes list of 500 wealthiest families worldwide.

But what you may not realise is that Rupert's love for luxuries went far beyond tobacco, Cartier and Montblanc, it also spread to fine wine.

And that's where Rupert's La Motte vineyard comes into the story…

If you love luxury, La Motte’s wines will satisfy your every desire!

“Situated in the beautiful Franschhoek Valley in South Africa’s Cape winelands, La Motte is home to the finest wines, recognised internationally for exceptional quality!”
That’s the opening line on the vineyard’s website and, while it may just sound like clever marketing, this is exactly what La Motte wines deliver.
In fact, its list of awards stretches as far back as its 1999 vintage.
And one brand stands out from all of them…

Our favourite La Motte wine is also one of the most celebrated

Introducing La Motte’s Millennium brand.
Since its 1999 vintage hit the shelves, this wine hasn’t had a single year where it didn’t win a coveted award. From four-star Platter’s Guide ratings to Double Gold at the Michelangelo International Wine Awards and even a coveted Gold award at Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, La Motte Millennium is a name (and wine) to remember.
And now the latest vintage, the La Motte 2012 Millennium has arrived.
According to our experts here at FSP Wine Club, it’s a real treat!
With its delicious nose of raspberry (from 65% Merlot grapes), a slight herbaceousness (that comes from 22% Cabernet Franc grapes) and English toffee (from spending 14 months maturing in French oak barrels), this red blend is a perfect harmony of flavor. The palate is juicy and rich and leaves a lingering dry, fresh finish you’ll just love.
Best served with red meat, roast game and matured cheddar; this sumptuous red is the perfect way to spend a winter’s eve in front of the fireplace.
